The schedule of events for BC Crab Fest 2025
Diving Into Discovery
At BC CrabFest, entertainment means more than a stage — it’s about diving into discovery, connection, and coastal fun. Wander through our interactive Education Market, where local organizations and experts share stories of sustainable seafood, ocean conservation and community initiatives.

Ocean-to-Table Experience
Ever wonder where your seafood comes from? Walk the dock and meet harvesters — with commercial crab boats moored right in the Inner Harbour, it’s a true ocean-to-table experience.
Seaside Kids Zone: Fun for Our Littlest Crab Fans
The Seaside Kids Zone is where creativity, play, and coastal learning come together, all just steps from the water! Designed for families and curious kids of all ages, this hands-on area is packed with fun activities that celebrate life by the sea.
Little ones can get messy with crafts hosted by BirdHouse creative studio, splash around at the interactive water table, and show off their festival spirit with face painting and a visit to the photo booth. There’s even space for storytelling, scavenger hunts, and ocean-inspired games—so there’s always something to discover.
Whether you’re waiting for your CrabBoil pickup or spending the day soaking it all in, the Seaside Kids Zone makes sure the whole family has a reason to smile.

Reciprocity Trusts
This Indigenous-led organization helps return land wealth to First Nations across BC. Visit their booth to learn about their land tax model, how settlers and supporters can contribute, and why reciprocity is an essential part of a just and thriving coastal future.
Oceanwise
Ocean Wise is all about protecting our oceans through science, education, and sustainable choices. At their CrabFest booth, they’ll be sharing how you can make smart seafood decisions, spot the Ocean Wise symbol when you shop or dine, and help protect marine life—starting with what’s on your plate.
Peninsula Streams Society
This team of streamkeepers and habitat heroes is working to restore local creeks and watersheds on the Saanich Peninsula. At CrabFest, they’ll have hands-on displays and info about how you can support stream health, salmon habitat, and native biodiversity right in your own backyard.
Gorge Waterway Action Society
Dedicated to the care of the Gorge Waterway, this group will share how they’re protecting one of Victoria’s most iconic urban waterways. Visit their booth to learn about green crab invasion, community cleanups, and how we can all help keep the Gorge clean and thriving.
SeaChange Marine Conservation Society
SeaChange helps coastal ecosystems thrive by restoring eelgrass meadows and educating communities about healthy shorelines. Stop by to hear about their restoration projects, see real eelgrass up close, and learn how healthy oceans start with healthy habitats.
T. Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation
This organization supports fishing communities and defends ocean health through policy, research, and grassroots action. At their booth, they’ll be sharing stories from the fishing community, showing how environmental justice and sustainable seafood go hand in hand.
Maritime Museum of BC
Bringing history to life, the Maritime Museum will showcase stories, artifacts, and fun activities that celebrate BC’s coastal heritage. Drop by their booth to try knot-tying, explore ship models, and discover the deep roots of seafaring in our region.
Trotac
Trotac, Victoria’s go-to marine supply store, will be at CrabFest showcasing gear, tools, and tech that keep BC’s recreational crab harvesting running strong. Stop by their table to check out marine essentials, purchase a kit and ask questions about recreational crabbing.
